Martha\u2019s Vineyard and Nantucket are only a short ferry ride away from the mainland, however when you get there it feels like you have traveled much further. These islands have a true vacation getaway feel right when you step off the boat. They are known for having an abundance of restaurants with delicious fresh seafood, focused on local catches. Scallops in particular are locally sourced off the coast and can be found on many of these menus and are a true delicacy.<\/p>\n

11 Best Restaurants for Scallops on The Islands:<\/h2>\n

Straight Wharf<\/a> (Nantucket)<\/h2>\n

The Straight Wharf has fantastic seafood and some of the best harborside dining around. The dayboat scallops and rotating “sustainable catch” are standouts on the menu.<\/p>\n

The Proprietors<\/a> (Nantucket)<\/h2>\n

The Proprietors Bar & Table brings a distinctly Nantucket viewpoint to the local food scene and is a culinary ode to the island\u2019s historically well-traveled palate. Offering a menu of creatively-interpreted global cuisine.<\/p>\n

Beach Road<\/a> (Vineyard Haven, MV)<\/h2>\n

Beach Road lives up to its wonderful reputation on the island.\u00a0 The menu is interesting and the flavors are exciting. If you love seafood and American cuisine this is the place to go on your next trip!<\/p>\n

SeaGrille<\/a> (Nantucket)<\/h2>\n

SeaGrille is a favorite with locals and tourists alike. They have been on Nantucket for more than 30 years and specialize in local seafood. Indoor and outdoor seating is offered. Everything here is top notch!<\/p>\n

Dune<\/a> (Nantucket)<\/h2>\n

The ever changing menu showcases an innovative selection of the finest in seasonal local produce, fish and meats from regional farms and select purveyors. You will want to try the whole menu!<\/p>\n

The Net Result<\/a> (Vineyard Haven, MV)<\/h2>\n

All of the shellfish comes from the cool, crisp waters of the Northeast, most often being locally caught. The fish is so fresh \u201cit will make you blush.\u201d Martha\u2019s Vineyard Bay Scallops are available fresh and frozen (when off season).<\/p>\n

State Road<\/a> (West Tisbury, MV)<\/h2>\n

State Road is an inviting contemporary tavern. The interior, designed by Michael S. Smith, is filled with unique antiques. The gardens on the property are harvested daily and then incorporated into the seasonally focused menus. This one should be on your bucket list!<\/p>\n

Larsen’s Fish Market<\/a> (Chilmark, MV)<\/h2>\n

If you are looking for fresh off the boat – look no further! This is a town favorite for some of the freshest seafood on the island. Come here for takeout and then go sit on the nearby beach and watch the sunset. It doesn’t get much better!<\/p>\n

Linda Jean’s Restaurant<\/a> (Oak Bluffs, MV)<\/h2>\n

Linda Jean’s has been around for over 40 years. And for good reason! The sauces, gravies, and soups are from scratch. Meals are always prepared to order using the finest ingredients. The fresh seafood comes from The Net Result and burgers, which are ground daily from the neighbors at Reliable Market.<\/p>\n
