The Hibiscus House is a charming Cape Cod cottage in a friendly West Yarmouth neighborhood where you can walk to Colonial Acres Beach. It’s perfect for couples or small groups, with a maximum occupancy of four guests total. Tucked into a friendly West Yarmouth neighborhood, the home is just a short stroll to the beach on Lewis Bay. This unique coastal setting feels almost island-like, with a short footbridge leading you over the water. Along the way and at the beach, you’ll see boats, ferries, sailboats, kayakers, windsurfers, and people fishing near the channel. Ospreys and seagulls are often overhead, adding to the classic Cape Cod coastal atmosphere. Be sure to watch the short 30-second video of the beach just after the photo section.

Location: 12 Standish Way, West Yarmouth, MA — centrally located on Mid Cape Cod, offering easy access to beaches, dining, and attractions across the Cape. Make day trips to all of Cape Cod and the Islands.

Inside, the 700 sq. ft. home is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. The primary bedroom features a queen bed, and the second bedroom includes a double and a twin bed. The living room offers a Roku TV, DVD player, and stereo, while the second bedroom has a smaller Roku TV. The kitchen is fully equipped (no dishwasher), and the home includes fast internet, basic cable, window air conditioning, and refreshing cross breezes.

We provide a comprehensive guest guide filled with house details, local beaches, restaurants, hidden gems, and things to do throughout Cape Cod.

The home features a compact, Cape-style bathroom, with the toilet positioned close to the tub. Most guests have no issues, but taller guests or those needing extra space or mobility accommodations may find it a tighter fit.

Outside, enjoy a relaxing backyard with a grill (propane provided), hammock, patio seating, and garden. An outdoor shower adds the classic Cape Cod experience. A washer and dryer are located in the basement, along with beach chairs, coolers, and other essentials.

Sidewalks lead directly toward the beach, and you are close to restaurants, shops, mini golf, ice cream spots, and local attractions. Seagull Beach is 2.7 miles away, and Main Street Hyannis is just over a mile, offering ferries, museums, dining, and entertainment.

The Neighborhood: Colonial Acres at Lewis Bay is a Gem in the Town of Yarmouth. We fell in love with this neighborhood over 30 years ago. To this day it remains one of the happiest places on Cape Cod. It features quaint architecture, with tree-lined sidewalks most of the way to the beach. We love it for the friendly atmosphere where residents smile, wave, and greet each other by name. The visitors, and great neighbors make this a special place.

There is limited free parking at the beach at the end of Standish Way where a short bridge to the beach, gives it an Island Vibe. The kids love to catch blue crabs from the deck. Once on the beach on the right there is a small marina with boat slips, a boat channel and rock jetty where all enjoy fishing.

Relax in one of our beach chairs. Watch Ferries coming and going to the islands, Kayakers, Windsurfers, Sailors, Power boats, Water Skiers, and paddle boards. Never boring, there is always someone or something to watch. The beach is 1000 feet long. Your spot is waiting for you.
