Why Kids Love It
Beautiful sandy beach which stretches for miles. We own approximately 250 feet of the beach in front of our home. Cildren love to collect sand dollars and star fish on the sand bars. East Sandwich beach is located on Cape Cod Bay. The water's are much calmer than you will find on Nantucket Sound.
Along Old Kings Highway, otherwise known as Route 6A on the northern shoreline of the Cape west of Barnstable is Sandwich. It’d be tough to beat the charm of this village, where you’ll see nary a lick of commercialism. Here small B&B’s replace sterile chain hotels, exuberating authentic Cape Code quaintness.
In fact, Sandwich is the Cape’s oldest town, so you can be sure it’s brimming with history. Stately Victorian homes have been lovingly preserved through the centuries. The town lies on the eastern part of the Cape Cod Canal along Cape Cod Bay and is an easy drive from Boston.
While the village is tiny, there is much to do. Lose yourself in an afternoon visiting Heritage Museum & Gardens. A collection of three different museums, it has over 100 acres of beautiful gardens, a treetop adventure park, and an indoor carousel for the kids.
The Sandwich Glass Museum houses exquisite glassware and showcases Sandwich’s illustrious place in history as a leader in the world’s glass production. Yes, you can even watch a glass blowing demonstration.
The Boardwalk in Sandwich is a fine ending to the day or first thing in the morning as the sun rises over the Cape. Here you can get a good taste of Cape Cod Bay as you cross marshlands with abundant wildlife, ending with a large expanse of beach. For even more nature, the Shawne-Crowell State Forest boasts more than 15 miles of hiking and horseback riding trails.
Scorton Creek, the birthplace of salt water fly fishing , once frquented by the late great Boston Redsox, Ted Williams is a short walk. The Torton Burgess House Museum is also withing wakling distance. Thorton Bugess is the author of "Mrs Peter Rabbit". The orginal briar patch is behing the house and children are invited to explore.
Marshland voted "Best Cape Cod Breakfast" is a favorite of the Food Network.
The Daniel Webster dates back to the 1600's and is a fvorite. Ask to sit in the solarium. The Pilot House, Fisherman's View and Seafood Sam's can all be found in the Sandwich marian. Children and adults both enjoy "Off the Grid" where you will find a variety of food trucks and outdoor dining and firepits.
There is no better breakfast on Cape Cod than Marshland!

My family and I had a fantastic stay for our first time at Cape Cod! Brad and Elizabeth are very punctual and answer emails promptly, especially when you’re on the property and have a little questions back-and-forth. You can tell they definitely take pride in their home, and want you to have a good time.The website does describe everything almost correctly; the ad says it has three queen beds, one sofa bed, and 4 twin beds. This reads a little confusing, because there are two queen beds and the sofa bed becomes a queen bed… Just for clarification, for a total of three “queen” beds. The twin beds, 1 in each bedroom upstairs, is a trundle bed so there’s a mattress/bed pull out from each of those.The house is mostly renovated as described; my only recommendation is they need to update the upstairs bathroom with the shower; the shower curtain rod is rusted, and you can tell the fiberglass/plastic tub insert could be replaced. It’s functional, and it’s the least of your worries at a beach, but just something to keep in mind.Another thing to know is, it is on a private beach, which makes it a great location because all the houses are for the private beach, but the access to the beach is shared by three homes total, including this one. The two houses behind this one use this access and you can see them from the living room easily as they walk by.I do highly recommend this place if you want to stay on oceanfront, and that’s why as most of you beachgoers know the price goes up… If you want oceanfront, you’re paying for it. Again, Brad and Elizabeth were fantastic hosts.

RayGreat location and Great experience
We rented out this home for a week right on East Sandwich Beach and can't say enough great things about the house itself and the location. The home was very clean and neat when we showed up, so much that we made a strong effort to leave it the same way that we found it. Excellent views of the bay in every room and perfect for our family of 4. Having a grille and plenty of beach chairs were also ideal. Great beach access that was fun during the day and night!I highly recommend for those looking for a fun getaway in the Cape.

We stayed at Elizabeth & Brad's beach house 8/3-8/17. Last year we stayed on the same beach, but a different home and we decided that this year we would do 2 weeks. Not only was the house perfect for our family of 5, but everything from start to finish was perfect. Brad & Elizabeth were exceptional hosts with the perfect amount of communication. The house was spotless with everything you could need. The beach was so wonderful, especially for our kids. They loved exploring the tide pools! We did too :) The water is calm and inviting. We wish we had booked the whole month! We would love to stay at this home again.

PEGPre season getsway
planned an impromptu trip to the cape. I understand it’s very early in the season. Found this place on the beach in Sandwich after looking online. I’ve always loved the sandwich beaches except for the rocks. The owner Brad answered my questions. Originally, i only planned to stay for a couple of nights but it was so relaxing and peaceful i was so fortunate that another night was available. Brad provided everything we needed. The house and the beach were lovely and it was so easy to communicate with the owner Brad . I would definitely recommend both!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Cape Cod home right on the beach with fabulous views! We have been coming to Cape Cod for years and East Sandwich Beach is our favorite Cape Cod beach with its beautiful sandbars and miles of sandy beach. This direct oceanfront home on a private beach is, by far, the best we have ever stayed in. We can't wait to revisit this magical place!
