- 8 minutes to freshwater lakes (Pilgrim Lake, Crystal Lake)
You'll also be a quick 5-minute walk (0.3 miles) to beautiful Meetinghouse Pond, a saltwater inlet — great for swimming or boating — that connects to Pleasant Bay. Or you can launch your boat or kayak at our private neighborhood cove, which also leads to the bay.
A mile away, East Orleans Village boasts great local produce and seafood (Nauset Farms), shops (like Weekend and Adorn), and restaurants (The Barley Neck, The Rail, Whisk Café).
Linens are not provided, but we’ll recommend local rental services.
This home has been in our family for generations, and we are excited to share its joys with you and your loved ones! We provide you with a detailed guide to the house and local area, and we are happy to offer recommendations for what to do or where to eat.

Area Information
East Orleans, where our home is located, is a beautiful, quiet enclave on Pleasant Bay.
Orleans is a small, scenic beach town—about 22 square miles in size, and water makes up nearly half of it. In Orleans you get the best of all worlds when it comes to beaches. Experience the crashing waves of Nauset Beach, the calm waters and tidal pools of Skaket Beach, and the sparkling freshwater ponds at Pilgrim Lake and Crystal Lake — all within just a few miles of our house! We're biased, but we think Orleans is the best town on the Cape. It's toward the middle of the Cape, so you can easily take day trips to Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Chatham, Provincetown, and more.
Our home is in a peaceful private association. Two blocks south of the house is our private cove landing, where you can store kayaks for easy access to Pleasant Bay. Two blocks north is Meetinghouse Pond, which has a dock perfect for a swim or launching your boat. Walk three blocks east to another landing to watch the sunrise over Pochet Bay, or head four blocks west (to the end of Tides End Lane) to a park bench with a beautiful sunset view over the river.
East Orleans Village is just a mile away, where you’ll find restaurants plus an ice cream shop, coffee shop/cafe, gourmet market, playhouse, and historic inn with a bar and live music on the lawn. Barley Neck Road, the main road that leads to our neighborhood, ends at a quiet landing. There’s very little traffic — only local residents.
Attractions Within Walking Distance
Short walk to private cove to launch a boat or kayaks.
1/3 mile walk to dock on Meetinghouse Pond (saltwater pond) for swimming or boat launching.
Walk .5 miles to beautiful sunset views at the end of Tides End Lane.
Favorite Places To Eat
Drive or bike to East Orleans Village—just a mile away—for fresh produce (Nauset Farms), cute shops (Weekend, Adorn), and restaurants (The Barley Neck, The Rail, Whisk Cafe).
Inside Scoop
Get a week-long beach pass rather than paying daily for parking. That way you can park at freshwater lakes, too! (We give instructions for purchasing a pass in our house guide, which also lists several local recommendations, so you can make the most of your visit!)

About the owner: Hi, I'm Rebecca! I help manage this listing for my mom, who owns the home. Her parents built it after retiring from careers in the federal government. Her dad designed the house himself and helped build it — it was truly a labor of love. This isn’t just a cottage; it’s a spacious family home. My brother and I spent every summer here growing up, and it’s always been a very special place for our family. Now, we’re excited to share it — and all the things we love about Orleans and the Cape — with you and your loved ones!
Why this property? Our home combines classic Cape Cod charm with modern updates. We have recently renovated the back deck, outdoor shower, upstairs bathroom, and kitchen.

Great stay
Our family (3 adults, 2 kids) had a wonderful week in this lovely home! The location offers plenty of privacy and space in a quiet neighborhood. The house was airy and clean, and the kitchen had pans, serving platters, etc - everything we needed to cook. The owner was responsive and helpful.
