About the Property
Our charming 3-bedroom cottage is perched atop a dramatic bluff on a waterfront acre of land, offering a spectacular, unobstructed view of Cape Cod Bay and the entire “arm” of the Cape, from Provincetown to Plymouth. Beach stairs take you down to your own private beach. At high and low tide, the water is lovely for swimming. Early in the season, you can “whale watch” right from your deck—last April I spotted 6 whales playing in the bay about a half mile out. Enjoy glorious sunsets over the bay and the lights of Provincetown on the horizon at dusk.
This historic Sears ''kit house'' has a living room/kitchen with fireplace, a den and a dining area in the enclosed porch that runs along the entire water side of the house, a bath, and a large deck that extends to the edge of the bluff. Two bedrooms have a queen-size bed and the third has a double bed. Sheets and towels are provided along. A small fisherman's cottage, further back from the water, may also be available for rent during the summer season.
IF IT'S NATURAL BEAUTY AND SERENITY YOU SEEK FOR YOUR VACATION, YOU HAVE ARRIVED!
NOTE: WE UNDERSTAND THAT MANY OF OUR GUESTS WILL NEED TO STAY IN CLOSE TOUCH WITH WORK DURING VACATION; TO MAKE THIS EASIER FOR OUR GUESTS, WE HAVE HIGH SPEED INTERNET PROVIDED BY COMCAST.
Some dogs are welcome -- please ask. We charge a fee for your canine family member to stay, which ranges from $100 to $400, for toy dogs up to medium size dogs, respectively. We cannot welcome puppies or large dogs.
October through May, four night stays are possible. Please ask about the rate for short stays in the "shoulder" season.
Miles of sandy beach that is nearly deserted, even in summer!
Sand bars emerge at lowest tide, bedding to be explored.
The water is warm in summer and safe for kids learning to swim, since there is no under-tow on the Bay Side.
It's a beach paradise for kids.

Walking in the other direction, you'll find the last two remaining wood-frame ice shacks at Cold Storage Landing, and, up higher on the bluff, the site of the plant that processed fresh caught fish and shipped it on the train that ran along the coast and through our yard.
The Susan Baker museum and Bobby Cardinal's painting studio are just a ten minute walk inland.
Walk down Bayview Road and Pond Road to Salty Market for breakfast and lunch, The Captain's Table for dinner and Chequesset Chocolates for dessert.

About the owner: The serenity of Cape Cod Bay and the beauty of the bluff and dunes drew me to Truro and the National Seashore Park many years ago. I am a landscape painter who came for a visit and never completely left.
Why this property? I still remember the first time I saw the view from the cottage deck and stairs -- it simply took my breath away. It still does. I love seeing the expression on the faces of new guests when I lead them out to the edge of the bluff for the first time.
