Unique Benefits
North Truro has so much to offer, with its many restaurants, resident artists, family businesses, roadside farm stands, weekly Farmer's Market, live Music, breathtaking shorelines, historical sites and ease of access to its neighbors- bustling Provincetown and artsy Wellfleet- even the more secluded areas of Truro hold a special kind of magic everyone should experience! Most of the Truro's residents have been routed here for generations and have a great deal of pride in the community and it shows!
Our home has the unique benefit of being right on the bus line - the Flex Shuttle - which takes you right into Provincetown via scenic Shore Road (6A). It's only a 15 minute ride into town and no need to worry about crazy, limited Ptown parking. Access to the public Bay beaches along Beach point is a breeze - you can walk down to Beach Point or hop the flex -it's a fabulous resource!
We are located 2 minutes by car to Head of the Meadow Beach with miles of coastline, breathtaking scenery and walking/biking trails to explore. Corn Hill Beach on the Bay is an extra 5 minutes down the street and is a large public bay side beach with views that reach across Cape Cod Bay. The inlets at low tide are full of sea life and enchantment and a great place for memorable stroll. Walking trails are close by and several fabulous restaurants are only a stone's throw away! Other points of interest nearby include Highland Lighthouse, Highland Links, the Jenny Lind tower, Castle Hill Art Center, the Payomet Performance Center, Jobi Pottery, the Atlantic Spice Company, many Artist studios and so much more! But after all that fun, coming home in the evening offers a quiet, relaxing retreat, where you can gather with friends and family and reflect on your adventures or dream about what is to come.
Why Kids Love It
If the miles of beautiful sandy beaches within minutes of the house were not enough, our home has a big back yard and lots of room for running and playing. North Truro has the best neighborhood playground a kid could ask for... PUMA PARK, off of Highland Avenue behind the public library. . . and be sure to check out our fabulous Library! There are lots of walking trails through the woods, complete with scenic vistas and educational message boards, and the Head of the Meadow Bike Trail is a great way to spend an hour or two without worries of cars and traffic!

Inside Scoop
Beach permits can be pricey, but can be worth it if you plan to spend more than a day or two at the beach! Alternatively, you can pay to park daily. If you plan to spend your days out adventuring, the 'pay for parking' beaches are generally free to park after 4pm and there's still plenty of sunshine to enjoy.
If you'd like to have a bonfire out at the beach in the evenings, make sure to visit the Beach Office on Shore Road EARLY on the SAME DAY.
. permits are limited and go fast!!
Cape Cod in all its majestic beauty also has risks and dangers all visitors need to be mindful of in order to ensure a safe and enjoyable vacation:
1. We are home to a substantial Seal and White Shark population. This can be very exciting! People AND SHARKS all enjoy watching the seals (the dogs of the ocean) playing along the coastline. SHARKS are amazing, creatures that follow the seals and sometimes think with their stomachs and not their brains...If you are in the water at dawn or at dusk, you are putting yourself at risk of being mistaken for a seal. This is not only dangerous, but drains valuable rescue resources in the case of an unfortunate event and puts the sharks' lives at risk at well.
Please, do not go swimming at dawn or dusk, particularly on the ocean side.
2. PLEASE be mindful of our Shore Birds' nesting grounds and of the local Coyotes, Foxes, Wild Turkey, Deer and Turtles just to name a few. These are all important and integral species here on Cape Cod. Please be mindful of their habitats and do not interact. Coyotes in particular have become very accustomed to humans and if it's breeding season they can be aggressive. They are NOT DOGS, please keep your distance, do NOT feed them.
The wildlife on Cape Cod is something we treasure, protect and respect.
3. Ticks and Poison IVY: Both are abundant on the Cape. Beach Grass and/or long grass and even trees are places ticks love to hide. Always check yourself for ticks after a day out in nature.
Poison Ivy can ruin a good time faster than anything - it's everywhere on the Cape. If you don't know for sure what it looks like - assume the worst and avoid it. If you come in contact with Poison Ivy it is crucial to treat it quickly AND properly - do your research and act quickly to avoid spreading.

Melissa Silvia
Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: We are the Silvia family! We are Melissa, Michael and Peter. Michael and I are married with two (almost adult) children. Peter and Michael are twin brothers and often referred to around town as 'The Silvia twins'. Michael and Peter are local to North Truro, growing up a few doors down on Shore Road, where their folks still reside. We have many friends and lots of family in the area. Once we started welcoming children into our lives, we knew we needed our own place on the Cape to be close to family. This little house belonged to long time family friends and came on the market at just the right time! Michael and Peter played here as children and the neighboring property was my father-in-law's family business for over 40 years, so from day one it felt like home.
We have been renting the property to summer guests for a long time. We've met a lot of really great and interesting people, many of whom rented with us repeatedly, and we learned a lot about hospitality and the rental business. We took a break from renting for a number of years, and even moved here year-round while we tried our hand at owning a business in Provincetown. We know our beautiful community and our neighbors well and never take for granted how fortunate we are to be the stewards of this lovely property. It's a great place for making memories, we know you'll think so too!
Why this property? We lovingly restored this property back in 2010. We took care to maintain the charm and the original ranch style of the home. Our goal was to create a clean, relaxed and comfortable decor, without any pretense. A place we could retreat to that felt like home, a deep breath, an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life - nothing high maintenance or too fragile to live in and enjoy. That said, we are sticklers for cleanliness and courtesy, because it's our home first, and we want each guest to have the very best experience during their stay. We hope this is appreciated by our guests. For these reasons, we do not allow house parties, or extra overnight guests or pets. Our location is really fantastic for people looking to enjoy the beaches and everything the town and neighboring towns have to offer. Access to Provincetown is always a big plus - there's something for everyone there- too much fun for just one week! We try to keep a healthy batch of brochures for guests to go through if you're new to the area, but we also have the Truro Chamber of Commerce right down the street, and they are always happy to help guide you.
We also value your privacy. We typically leave the keys and our phone number and welcome you to give us a call or a text and let us know if you need anything - otherwise, the house is yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay.
