Guestbook comments from the owner:
We rented this house back in 2008 as well. We were informed by the owner that he had done a number of upgrades since our first stay. He was honest in his representations. While it is an older charming cape home as he describes and couple of rooms are a little tight on space, he has the house set up as best as we think he could and pretty much all new furniture and mattresses, which we could tell. Bathrooms while not big, were also updated as well, which we loved. The street is as peaceful as it could get and we now know after his steering us to Sept that it really is a GREAT time to visit the Cape and at a discounted price. !
He forgot to mention to us he also built a new large free standing stone patio with water views in the front yard. The best place to have a few beers or cold glass of wine at the days end. A great place to sit and hangout.
Look forward to our next stay a few years down the line.
House was great. Centrally located. Plenty of space for large groups. Would recommend!!
We had a great week on the cape! First - the location is excellent. You’re really in the mid Cape and you can shoot down to Provincetown in just over an hour or be near the shops in Hyannis in 10 minutes. Can’t beat the location. The colonial acres beach was amazing as well and was 200 yds down the road. Great for family and low tide walks!
The house worked well for our family. 5 bedrooms with a random bed in a small room upstairs. Two queens down stairs with an office adjoining the master that was perfect for our 19mo in a pack and play. The house is older. No central air but window units in every room kept us comfortable. The original set of fitted sheets that were on most of the beds were older and the elastic was worn out so the sheets would come off at night. When I contacted John he said to toss them. There are several sets of extra sheets so it wasn’t a problem. John was helpful and easy to contact. There are also TONs of towels which is great when you have lots of people!
Best part of the house was the patio with the ocean breeze. Great for morning coffee and drinks at night!
Wonderful, classic Cape Cod house with plenty of room for our 3 couples. Location is West Yarmouth was perfect for us as first-time visitors. The house would be excellent for families with kids and friends, especially in the summer, as there are nooks, crannies and "secret" bedrooms throughout. The house was comfortable and served us well. John provided excellent recommendations as to things to do and places to eat (especially the Black Cat in Hyannis). We were busy each day exploring the Cape - Province Town, Martha's Vineyard, Plymouth, and of course the light houses. John responded to our inquiries in a timely manner - sorry we didn't get to meet him in person.
